Tel Aviv Museum to Show Daumier Lithographs

A leading Jewish art collector, requesting anonymity, will make a six months’ loan to the Tel Aviv Art Museum of 25 original lithographs by Daumier, famous French satirical painter, it was announced here by Elias Newman, Palestine artist and representative of the Museum, who arranged the loan. This is the first notable loan collection made to the newly founded Museum.

Mr. Newman has just concluded a successful two weeks’ exhibition of his work at the Maryland Institute, during which many of his paintings were acquired by local art collectors. The exhibit received extensive and laudatory comment by art critics in the local press.
