Eight Jewish students, studying in the philosophy department of the University of Lvov, who were arrested suddenly last week after a raid on the premises of their union, were released today after signing the police protocol of their examination.
At the same time the rector of the University announced that his order suspending the Jewish Philosophic Students’ Union will remain in force for six months.
The Union was suspended for adopting a resolution severely criticizing the anti-Semitic student excesses in Lvov. It is now confirmed that the students were arrested because of the rector’s annoyance with the students in this connection.
