The president of the Vienna Police Department, Brandl, yesterday issued an ultimatum to Nazis who are members of the police department, to relinquish their party affiliations, or face dismissal from the force.

A mass meeting of Nazi members of the police force held last night was dissolved by order of the Police President and the names of all those present noted.

Policemen must not belong to any party which approves acts of violence against other citizens, the Police President asserted. Every policeman, he pointed out, must take an oath of office pledging him to carry out his duties without discrimination and in accordance with the laws of protection.
