Count Hermann Keyserling, considered friendly to the National Socialist Party of Hitler, issued an appeal yesterday to the German youth to follow the English and American gentlemen’s ideal of respecting the views of their opponents.
Writing in the “Deutsche Allegemeine Zeitung,” organ of Vice-Chancellor von Papen, Count Keyserling appeals in particular for a broader view toward Professor Albert Einstein, the distinguished scientist, now in the United States.
“Nationalist circles want Einstein to leave Germany forever, although Einstein is undoubtedly one of the two or three epoch-making spirits of our times and although a Jew is nevertheless a German,” Keyserling declared.
