Money from America for relatives in Poland sent through the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) has been considerably reduced, it is pointed out here. Relatives who used to send fifty dollars each month to their parents or relatives in Poland, now send less than half that, and sometimes only ten dollars. Such as used to send a monthly ten or fifteen to their Polish relatives have now almost completely discontinued their support. A large number of villages in Poland which used to receive regularly assistance for purposes of the Jewish families residing there are no longer receiving this support, and this has affected not only those who used to receive the support, but also the entire population of the districts.
