Klemperer Not German Spirited Says Nazi Press

Otto Klemperer, world-known Jewish conductor, who was ousted from his position as director of the Berlin State Opera yesterday by Minister of Education Bernhard Rust, is highly gifted, the German press declares, but is not fully German-spirited and hence, despite his acknowledged genius, cannot continue in the State Opera post.

Herr Klemperer received the news of his dismissal at Budapest, where he is acting as a guest conductor. His contract with the State Opera was to have expired in September, 1937.
