Invitations to the banquet which will be held in the grand ball room of the Palmer House in honor of Dr. Chaim Weizmann, have been sent out in the names of a group of noted American Jews.
The invitation committee is composed of Governor Herbert H. Lehman, of New York; Dr. Cyrus Adler, president of the American Jewish Committee; Judge William M. Lewis, of Philadelphia; Judge Julian W. Mack; Felix M. Warburg; Rabbi Stephen S. Wise; Louis Lipsky, chairman of the American Palestine Campaign; Morris Rothenberg, president of the Zionist Organization of America; Nathan Straus, Jr., and Elihu D. Stone, United States District Attorney, at Boston.
James Davis has accepted the chairmanship of the Chicago committee in charge of the dinner and Samuel Blitz of New York is serving as secretary.
It is expected that 2,000 Jewish leaders will be present at the dinner which will be held Sunday evening, July 2, and will mark the opening of the program of Jewish Day which culminates on the evening of July 3 in Soldier Field with the presentation of “Romance of a People”.
