In a message to Dr. Chaim Weizmann at the American Zionist convention now going on in Chicago, the Pro-Palestine Federation of America, whose membership includes some of the leading Gentiles in the United States, said:
“Our sincerest wishes to the Zionist Congress for a fruitful session. Christian America is following your deliberations with sympathy and understanding. We fondly hope that the mandatory power will cooperate, lifting its restrictions so that Palestine may become a haven of refuge for the persecuted German Jews as well as for all others seeking admission. As Christians and Americans we rejoice in the knowledge of the economic and cultural progress Palestine is making, the speedly upbuilding of a Jewish commonwealth in Palestine should receive the unreserved support of civilized mankind.”
The message was signed by Charles Edward Russell, Wendell P. Stafford, Frederick B. Robinson and George Gordon Battle.
