American Member of the World Zionist Executive
Although it was difficult for the delegates to concentrate their attention on the Convention because of the distractions of the #air and of Jewish Day, they did exhibit a very profound interest in the reports rendered with regard to the development of Palestine, the situation of the German Jewry and other large problems. There was particularly manifested a growing appreciation of economic problems and progress in Palestine.
The Convention also reflected the prevailing mood of the Zionist world, which is one of optimism and unbounded confidence in the future of the national home. The defeatist spirit which manifested itself here and there two or three years ago has been completely overcome so far as American Zionists are concerned. The point of view of Maximalist Zionism was reflected in most of the addresses.
I am confident that the American delegates to the Congress will stand for broad-gauged, far-sighted and uncompromising Zionist policies.
