Moishe Gliklich, of Kritchin, a town near Lublin, died there at the age of 125. Gliklich ascribed his longevity to the fact that he never rode in a railroad train, and habitually urged others who desired to live long never to travel by rail.

At the same time, there is a report from Chelm of the death of Serel Gitel Shuchmacher, who lived to be 108. No reason for great age is indicated.
