Formal presentation of the Manischewitz Fine Arts Plaque recently awarded to Isaac Van Grove, director and composer of the score played at the performances of “The Romance of a People” at Soldier Field in Chicago, will take place soon at a dinner to be tendered the participants in the pageant. Judge Harry M. Fisher will make the presentation speech.
The award was announced at the special encore performance of “The Romance of a People” by Meyer W. Weisgal, executive director of the pageant, and tribute was paid Mr. Van Grove by Judge Fisher, Rabbi Solomon Goldman and the Reverend John Evans, religious editor of the Chicago Tribune.
The Plaque reads as follows: Manischewitz Foundation Fine Arts Award. Presented to Isaac Van Grove, for his inspired interpretation of Israel’s contribution to mankind, the Pageant “The Romance of a People.”
