Only a synagogue remains standing in the entire village of Vlyok, Carpatho-Russia, which was destroyed by the over flowing of the river Theiss. Five hundred and forty-seven Jewish homes were carried away in the flood. Among the homeless are thirty-five Jewish merchants, seventy-five artisans and a number of peasants. Those who were rescued by troops were taken to a neighboring Jewish village where they will receive temporary shelter.
