Some 175 employees of the North German Lloyd’s New York office, 57 Broadway, have organized a Nazi Council (Betriebstrat) at a private meeting. According to Hans Schuengel, resident director of the line, the council was formed in conformity with the Nazi Labor Law. American employees of North German Lloyd were not obliged to join, it was announced.
