Despite the order of the Ministry of Economics that discrimination against Jewish firms in Germany should cease because of the adverse affect it was having on the employment situation, a Nazi department to compile information on Jewish concerns in the Reich has been organized to strengthen the anti-Jewish boycott.
The Central committee for combatting Jewish atrocities and boycott propaganda, established by the Nazi Party, opened a new department of information today. The department is compiling a special directory of Jewish firms aimed to prevent their patronage. This move is being strongly supported by the Retail Traders’ Association.
According to an article appearing in Die Wahrheit, anti-Semitic newspaper, tomorrow, a memorandum has been submitted to the Minister of Economics, Dr. Kurt Schmitt, demanding government action against Jewish concerns and alleging that Jewish dealers are conducting a silent boycott against Aryan concerns.
These charges are in line with assertions made by the newspaper last week, and on which it has dwelt continuously, that Jewish firms are dealing only with other Jewish concerns and, as a result, the pure Aryan enterprises, formerly prosperous, are now being forced to close down because of the alleged Jewish boycott.
This has been especially felt in the tailoring industry, according to Die Wahrheit which cites a number of cases where Aryan firms, which formerly enjoyed Jewish patronage, have been forced to go out of business when that ceased. As previously, the paper fails to consider that the Jewish firms, as a result of the anti-Jewish boycott,
