Defense League Attacks Steuben Society Warning Against German Boycott

The charge that the anti-German boycott is detrimental to the interests of the American people, made Tuesday by the national council of the Steuben Society of America in a statement to President Roosevelt, was refuted yesterday as Nazi propaganda and a libel on the patriotism of millions of Americans, Jews and non-Jews alike, in a statement issued by the administrative committee of the American League for the Defense of Jewish Rights.

According to the League, the statement of the Steuben Society is proof that “Nazi propagandists in this country have gained control of the Steuben Society as part of their assiduous campaign to spread the Hitlerite gospel among the German-American groups.” A copy of the
