Funeral services for Dr. Julian W. Brandeis, attending physician at Lebanon Hospital, the Bronx, will be held at his residence 8 West Eighty-third Street at 11 o’clock today.

Dr. Brandeis, who was 58 years old, was a specialist in internal medicine. His interests were widely varied both within and outside his profession. He was known as a wit, a literateur and a lover of music. He was the author of “Baron Murchausen, M.D.”, editor of The Medical Pickwick, a monthly magazine, and a contributor to the Saturday Evening Post and other publications.

His musical inclinations he probably inherited from his father, the late Fredrick Brandeis, who was organist and choir master at the Shearith Israel Synagogue for twenty-five years and composed many of the hymns used in synagogues. Dr. Brandeis was an instructor in surgery at the Polyclinic Hospital and a professor of medicine at Fordham University.

Surviving him are his wife, a son, Fredrick, and a daughter, Irma. Interment will be in Beth Olam Cemetery, Cypress Hills, Brooklyn.
