Anti-Semitic disturbances broke out in Bucharest yesterday in connection with the meeting of the Cuzist congress, which is composed of Roumanian Nationalist, anti-Semitic groups headed by the notorious agitator, Professor Alexander Cuza.
The Cuzists smashed windows in Jewish shops and molested Jewish passersby on the streets of Bucharest. The police intervened energetically, but the anxiety of the Jewish population continues, in view of the sharp rise of anti-Semitism in Roumania in recent months.
The Roumanian government today announced the dismissal of several high officials, because they collaborated with Nazi agitators.
The conservative daily, Vionta, openly charges that the German propaganda department is responsible for the growth of anti-Semitism in Roumania, lately concentrating its entire activities in this direction.
