Deutsch, Levy, Rosenman Elected in New York Poll

Bernard S. Deutsch, president of the American Jewish Congress, was elected to the aldemanic presidency by a heavy majority in the New York City elections. Running on the victorious Fusion ticket, he defeated Nathan Straus, Jr., Recovery Party candidate, and Milton Solomon, regular Democrat.

Samuel Levy was returned to office as Borough President of Manhattan. Henry Hesterberg, in a startling election up-set, was defeated for Borough President of Brooklyn.

Justice Samuel I. Rosenman was returned to the Supreme Court bench. In Brooklyn, Aaron L. Jacoby was elected Register. In Manhattan, with returns incomplete, Irving Ben Cooper, Fusion candidate, was apparently defeated for City Court Justice. cipal Court bench by an overwhelming majority.
