Clarification of the uncertainty prevailing among Jewry as to whether or not the Chicago community should enter into an official boycott of German goods appears with the decision to hold a huge mass meeting on November 22, in the Chicago Stadium, mammoth convention hall. The Chicago group, headed by Salmon O. Levinson, author of the Kellogg peace pact, is sponsoring the meeting. It is understood that Samuel Untermyer, president of the American League for the Defense of Jewish Rights and Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver of Cleveland will be invited to be the principal speakers at the meeting.

There has been considerable dissension among the various Jewish groups in the city since the sudden disintegration of the Max Korshak committee, which was to have been the Chicago branch of the American League. After considerable publicity and the opening of an office to carry on its work, the Korshak committee suddenly closed its office and ceased its activities.

Since that time, there have been numerous meetings and conferences. A week ago, representatives of more than 253 organizations composed of Arbeiter Ring branches, Jewish trade unions, Poale Zions, Socialist party groups and others met at the Douglas Park Auditorium. Mr. Levinson was the principal speaker at this meeting which appointed a committee to set into effect the wheels for a boycott movement in this region.

Later in the week, another meeting of a similar nature took place, attended by the orthodox rabbis of the city, the president of the Kehillah, the Zionist Organization and other orthodox groups. Here again a committee was appointed and instructed to work with Mr. Levinson towards bringing about an effective boycott.
