The Italian Zionist Congress which terminated today its two-day session in Padua, the great Adriatic seaport, went on record as supporting the World Zionist Congress resolution with regard to the German situation.
The resolution in effect condemned the Nazi repressions and anti-Jewish discriminations and favored settlement of Jewish refugees in Palestine.
Other items on the convention agenda included a protest against restrictions on immigration of Jews in Palestine and a plea that the laws of the Sabbath and kosher laws be observed on land belonging to the Keren Kayemeth, the Jewish National Fund, and in public kitchens there.
The conference delegates also voiced a hope that relations between Italy and Palestine, culturally and economically, be improved in every possible way.
Augusto Levi, prominent attorney, was elected president of the organization.
