Nazi Sport Units Free to Turn Down Jews

The stand taken by the Amateur Athletic Union in its convention at Pittsburgh last week and the subsequent action of the American Olympic Association meeting at Washington regarding discrimination against Jewish athletes in Germany, bore their first fruit with the announcement of the Reichscommissar for sports, Hans von Tschammer-Osten, that instructions had been issued to all clubs and sport associations in Germany giving them a free hand in deciding whether to accept or reject Jewish members. The instructions, however, emphasize that under no circumstances must Jews or foreigners be elected to the executive bodies of these organizations or hold other leading positions in them.
