Dr. Kurt Schmitt, Nazi Minister of Economics, in an interview with the West Deutscher Beobachter today, issued a further appeal to West Germany for discipline. He asked that Jewish traders be permitted to carry on their businesses without hindrance. Dr. Schmitt emphasized that Germany must fight the winter, so dreaded by the Nazis, without any economic complications.

Dr. Gottfried Feder, secretary to the Ministry of Economics and prominent Nazi leader, who this afternoon addressed the Frankfurt convention of German real estate agents, also appealed for toleration toward Jewish firms, stating that if the Nazis succeeded in getting through the Winter, they hoped that the economic position of Germany would be improved by Spring.

The Doctors’ Automobile Club today resolved to expel all its Jewish members.
