More than 2,500 persons attended the largest rally ever held by the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies at the Hotel Waldorf-Astoria Tuesday night. The purpose of the meeting was to place on sale minutes, at $11 apiece, proceeds of which will augment the fund being raised for the support of ninety-one affiliates. The sum of eleven dollars represents the Federation operating cost for one minute.

Pledges to purchase 4,302 units, or minutes, were received by the Federation.

Speakers at the rally who included Otto H. Kahn, David Sarnoff, Magistrate Jonah J. Goldstein, former Supreme Court Justice Joseph M. Proskauer, president of the Federation; Paul Adler and Benjamin Buttenwieser, told the gathering that they should come to the support of the campaign and discussed briefly the situation in Germany.

Announcement was made that on Jan. 24 a concert will be held at Madison Square Garden where the drive to raise $4,200,000 will be wound up.
