Jerusalem (Dec. 27)
Three thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight immigrants entered Palestine in the month of November, the government announced today. Of the total 3,837 were Jews and included 538 who entered under the capitalist classification. They were accompanied by 628 dependents. Immigrants who enter Palestine under the capitalist ruling must bring with them a capital of 1,000 pounds.
Twenty-four Jewish tourists who remained in Palestine after the expiration of their visas had their status legalized. Sixty other tourists were refused permission to remain. The bulk of the Jewish immigrants who arrived in Palestine during November came on certificates issued by the Palestine government, and were accompanied by their families for whom special certificates are not required.
