Pat McGrady, newspaper correspondent who recently returned from Germany, Friday night advised that if the anti-German boycott is to be successful it must be purged of its Jewish aspect.

Speaking before the William Clinton Stony Post No. 342 of the American Legion at Freeport, L. I., Mr. McGrady declared that the boycott of German goods in the United States has not been successful, according to the most recent trade statistics issued by the United States Department of Commerce.

“I believe that the reason for the failure of the boycott in this country may be attributed to the fact that it is being prosecuted primarily by Jews. It is widely recognized as a Jewish boycott of German goods,” he said.

“In all other countries, Italy and a few South and Central American countries being notable exceptions, German trade has suffered a precipitous drop. In these countries the boycott is used as an instrument of national policy and it reflects the resentment of all religious sects, labor organizations, and social groups against Nazi oppression of all classes of people in Germany.” he concluded.

Mr. McGrady attributed the growth of anti-Semitic organizations in this country to nuc#ar German Nazi groups operating from coast to coast, and said that Jewish leadership in the boycott is being used as an instrument with which to stir up popular resentment against the Jews. He outlined the trend of anti-Semitism in other countries throughout the world and named Adolf Hitler as the guiding genius of the ascendant anti-Semitic forces in the world.
