No Race Hate in Poland, Says Cabinet Chief

In answer to a violent ant-Semitic Speeck in the Polish Seim by the Endek Deputy Bieleski, Minister of the Interior Pieracki declard from the Sejm tribune that “acts of terrorism and violence by individuals and collectives, irrespective of their motives and no matter against whom they are directed. will not be toerated and the perpetrators will not escape sever punishment.”

“In order to prevent all misunderstanding, allow me to state that we will not tolerate race and national conflicts because they are to the historical spirti of the Polish people,” the Minister declared. “Poland’s great power in the past was achieved only thanks to the capacity for living with the alien races inhabiting Poland. I will be perilous if we adopt foreign race theories, which are serving political expansion purposes. The race theory ransplanted to Polish soil will achieve contrary results and conteract Poland’s material and spiritual asent.”

WARNS MINORITIES

Pointing out that while the main principle of Polish policy was one of full equality to all citizens, the Minister in Poland against extreme nationalism, which hinders peaceful living with the Polish people.

After Minister Pieracki concluded, Deputy Paczki, member of the government bloc, in a vigorous speech repudiated the Endek allegation that the government favored the Jews and declared that teh police must protect the lives and property of all citizens irre spective of their nationality or religion.

The speech of the Endek deputy which called forthe these strong replies from the govrnment alleged that the governement was permitting Jewish street demonstrations at the same time that it was prohibiting those of Polish national organizations.
