Edward M. M. Warburg, one of the dicectors of the Museum of Modern Art, will be chairman of thew banquet to be held tonight at the Harmonie Club in honor of Dr. Nelson Glueck, professor of Biblical History at the Hebrew Union College, Cincinnati. Among the speakers at the dinner, which is being given under the auspices of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, will be Dr. William Foxwell Albright, of Johns Hopkins, and Dr. E. A. Speiser, of the University of Pennsylvania. Henry Morgenthan is honorary chairman.
Dr. Glueck will sail on the Contedi Savoia tomorrow, on his way to Palestine, where he intends to continue his archeological reseahes. His work will be done under the auspices of the American School of Oriental Research, Bagdad.
In connection with the dinner tonight, there will be an exhibit of photographs and colored tracings of objects discovered in the previous archaological expeditions, announced Dr. A. S. W. Rosenbach, president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University. Large colored tracings of the first dated synagogue ever found in Palestine will be shown. The synagogue was found by laborers in th colnoy of Beth Alpha, and was nucovered by Dr. E. L. Sukenik, of the Hebrew University.
