Rabbi H. Raphael Gold was unanimously re-elected rabbi of Congregation Shearith Israel and its affiliated institutions here for the third time. Dr. Gold was elected rabbi for life.
Formerly a rabbi in Boston, Dr. Gold came to Dallas from New Orleans. He received his semicha from leading rabbinical authorities here and abroad. He also received academic degrees from Columbia and Harvard. Rabbi Gold was recently designated by a committee of the state legislature to express to the people of Texas a message of gratitude for the Roosevelt administration.
