The will of Dr. Hyman G. Enelow, rabbi emeritus of Temple Emanu-El, was filed for probate in the Surrogate’s Court yesterday afternoon, naming his brother, Max Enelow, of Chicago, as residuary legatee.

Rabbi Enelow, who died February 6 aboard the Empress of Australia, left an estate valued at “more than $10,000,” according to the formal estimate on the petition probate.

The will, dated January 24, 1934, also bequeathed to Mr. Enelow all of the plates and copies of Rabbi Enelow’s recent book, “A Jewish View of Jesus.” The Jewish Publication Society in America, Philadelphia unit, is bequeathed part of the Rabbi’s library. The rest of the collection went to the library of the Jewish Theological Seminary with the reservation that brothers and sisters of the deceased be permitted to select from it whatever books they wished.

Mrs. Lena Enelow Mann, a sister living in Santiago, California, received $1,000; Ben F. Enelow, a brother of Chicago, received $500. Other bequests include $500 to Ben F. Enelow’s wife, Gertrude and $3,000 to Bertha Toplon, Rabbi Enclow’s secretary, of 235 West Seventy-sixth street.

Three other bequests totaling $500 were contained in the will.

The document, which names the Fifth Avenue Bank as executor, was filed by Guggenheim and Untermyer, 30 Pine street.
