Six Endek students of the National Democrat party, anti-Semitic and anti-government group, were arrested today on the charge of having beaten Professor Herceli Handelsmann, aged Jewish scholar and dean of the historical faculty at the University of Warsaw.
Professor Handelsmann was severely beaten late last Wednesday night as he was returning from a student meeting where he had spoken sharply against the attempt of anti-Semites to introduce an “Aryan clause” which would have excluded all Jewish students from the student self-aid associations. The University Senate rejected the clause.
