Leaders of the Austrian Hechalutz. laborite organization for the training of Jewish youth for pioneer work in Palestine, were arrested today and taken to police headquarters where they were interrogated at length by the officials.
After representations made to the police by leaders of the Austrian Zionists, the entire group was released.
Last week the entire Poale Zion party was declared illegal in Austria and forbidden to function anywhere in the country.
The action of the police seems to be part of a campaign to eliminate all organizations which had anything to do with the outlawed Social Democratic party.
