The great danger to Poland resulting from the artifically fostered anti-Semitic spirit which is growing here apace was established in a report submitted today to the council of the Polish Socialist Party.
The report, detailing methods used by propagandists to create a spirit of anti-Semitism among the Polish masses, urged an immediate campaign against the Endeks, the National Democrats, a militant anti-government, anti-Jewish party, which the report accused of using Hitler methods.
The report to the council followed a week in which anti-Semitic activities reached a climax in several communities where Jews were attacked on the streets and in their homes by Endeks, Naras (members of the National Radical faction which recently seceded from the Endeks) and Nazis.
Two Naras were arrested here today following assaults on Jews on the promenade Ujazdowallee. Several Jews were slightly injured defending themselves against the rowdies.
ORGANIZED ATTACKS OCCUR
A series of organized anti-Jewish excesses broke out on the streets of this city, Lodz, Lask and a number of other towns yesterday, the excuse being that the day was Polish National Day. Many persons were injured and much damage done to buildings in the course of the outbreaks.
Groups of Naras armed with sticks rushed in formation through the Jewish quarter of Lodz, attacking and beating passersby and smashing windows. In Kilinski street the Jews tried to defend themselves, thus precipitating a street fight in which many Jews suffered severe injuries.
