A number of important Jewish problems will be discussed at the Chilean Jewish Congress which will open here on May 30 and continue for four days.
A total of 160 delegates, fifty of them nominated by institutions and the rest chosen by democratic election, will participate in the meetings.
Among the questions to be taken up are (1) the general status of world Jewry, (2) the World Jewish Congress, (3) the status of Chile’s Jewry, (4) the fight against anti-Semitism in Chile, (5) Jewish immigration to this country, (6) assimilation and Jewish education here, (7) social aid and, (8) the organization of Chilean Jewry.
Choice of a delegate to the World Jewish Congress will be by a direct special election for the whole Jewish community and not by the scheduled Chilean Jewish Congress.
