Representative Charles Kramer, member of the Congressional committee investigating activities of subversive propaganda dissemination in this country, yesterday conducted an executive hearing into the affairs of the Silver Shirts at the Federal Building here.

Three members of the anti-Semitic, Fascist group which is headed by William Dudley Pelley, were examined during the hearing. They were Robert Summerville, Don D. Kellogg and Mrs. Marion Wright, said to be close associates of Pelley.

Meanwhile, four truckloads of records and correspondence were removed to the county courthouse. The material was impounded by a court order.

Congressman Kramer arrived in Asheville Friday and conferred during the day with George W. Craig, referee in the Galahad Press, printers of Liberation, Pelley’s weekly periodical which attacked Jews, the Roosevelt Administration and opponents of Silver Shirtism, filed a bankruptcy petition several weeks ago. The magazine has not appeared for some time.

The records removed to the courthouse will be made available to the State and Federal courts, as well as to the Congressional committee. Representative Kramer announced that all information disclosed in this city will be revealed at public hearings scheduled for Washington within a few weeks.
