Rabbi Newton J. Friedman of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, was installed here this week as the first permanent rabbi of Temple Beth El. He is a member of this year’s graduating class of the Hebrew Union College at Cincinnati.
In his first sermon, Rabbi Friedman said that “the rabbi is the bond of union between all factions and sects that make up the congregations of the community.”
