Jewish representations to local and central authorities for intervention have proven without result, and all promises to suppress the attacks have proven hollow.

The visit of a rabbinical delegation to the Cardinal Archbishop Kakowski last week, and his reply to their plea for his intercession, has had serious repercussions. Cardinal Kakowski’s reply, parts of which were decidedly anti-Jewish in tone, were cited by many priests in churches of towns and villages all over Poland accusing “world Jewry” of financing Communism in Poland.

Jewish leaders in Poland, according to reliable information, are dejected, feeling that the Polish Jews are left unprotected and without any recourse. Their feeling is that the Government is not taking any action and is turning a blind eye to the attacks upon the Jews.
