The trial of the six remaining defendants in the Brith Biryonim case was concluded today. The verdict is expected tomorrow morning.
The six defendants, all that remain under charges of the twenty-three Revisionists arrested last July on charges of being members in an illegal terroristic organization, stood trial in Jaffa District Court.
Dr. B. Yeivin, Revisionist editor and one of the defendants, was the principal witness today, having arisen from a sick-bed to testify. He was permitted to leave the court and return to bed after he had completed his testimony.
Dr. Yeivin denied the existence of a secret terrorist organization as alleged by the prosecution and declared the defendants were believers in a maximalist Zionist program within the structure of the Revisionist organization. He denied they constituted a separate body and likewise denied that they propagated terror.
Tamara Jabotinsky-Kopp, sister of Vladimir Jabotinsky, founder and leader of the Revisionist movement, also testified today. She declared that she had been an auditor of the speech of Aba Achimeier, one of the defendants, delivered at Haifa to a group of university students, and did not find it inciting or inflammatory. The speech had been described by the prosecution as an exhortation to violence.
