A Committee for the Aid of Needy Scholars has been organized here by a group of rabbis and laymen who feel that the depression has made the lot of many rabbis and scholars doubly hard.

Such men, it is pointed out, do not turn to ordinary agencies for relief and suffer extreme privation Rabbi J. S. Sigal is honorary president of the committee and Rabbi H. Goldstein is president, Dr. Julius L. Siegel treasurer and Rabbi Abraham Elman, secretary.
