A considerable number of Jewish and Protestant forces have joined hands in the fight against unwholesome movies during the past week, according to an announcement from the National Conference of Jews and Christians.
“Harmful” movies were denounced in a resolution passed by the Central Conference of American Rabbis at their annual convention at Wernersville, Pa. The rabbis of the Reformed Jewish Temples of Chicago have also expressed an opinion favoring a cleanup in the movie industry, thus entering the campaign with nearly 1,000,000 Methodists of Illinois.
When the Rabbinical Assembly of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America meets at Tannersville, N. Y., at the beginning of next month, similar action is expected. Washington, D. C., Jews will be represented by a committee which will attend a meeting scheduled for the near future, when various religious groups will consider the problem.
