The Junior Federation of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities rendered outstanding service by its philanthropic and communal activities during the year, Irving P. Kartell, retiring president of the Junior group, said at the annual installation of officers held at the Brooklyn Jewish Center, 667 Eastern parkway.
The following will serve as officers: Milton Pariser, president; Ivan H. Gordon, first vice-president; Bernard Kovner, second vice-president; Miss Hannah Goldfarb, third vice-president; Mrs. Diana L. Jacoby, secretary, and Joel M. Lieberman, treasurer.
In his final report, Mr. Kartell stated that the Juniors have completed their $7,500 quota in the Brooklyn Federation’s current campaign for its twenty-five affiliated organizations. The Junior Federation, he said, is now the largest organization of its kind in the world with a membership of 2,000.
Supreme Court Justice Mitchell May complimented the Juniors for their past year of service, saying that “when the history of Brooklyn Jewry is written, one of its brightest pages will describe the beginning and growth of the Junior Federation.”
