Bernard S. Deutsch, Aldermanic President, predicted yesterday before sailing on the Orizaba for a month’s vacation in Mexico, that New York City would be able to revise its agreement with the bankers so that the money which is to be earmarked to cover delinquent taxes may be cut in half. This would mean a saving for the city of $25,000,000. The city’s relief funds will not be affected by the savings.
When Mr. Deutsch arrives in Mexico, he will deliver the goodwill sentiments of the City of New York to the Mayor of the Mexican capital. He also expects to visit the Mexican President and Josephus Daniels, United States Ambassador to Mexico. Mr. Deutsch is accompanied by his wife.
