Over 30,000 Jews who lived in Germany but never acquired citizenship left Germany in 1933, the German government officially announced today. Some 19,000 of this group were repatriated to the countries from which they came originally. Nothing was said, however, of the fate of the other 11,000.
At the same time the Berlin Palestine office announced that during this period more than 30,000 Jews applied to the office for advice and for permission to emigrate to Palestine, but the majority failed to obtain permission, owing to the lack of Palestine immigration certificates for them.
