14 Students Given Fund Scholarships

Louis Lion Mintz, one of fourteen students awarded a year’s scholarship in various colleges throughout the country, will enter Yeshiva College in New York City this Fall. The scholarships have been made possible by Max J. and Benjamin Shapiro, New York factors, who established the Shapiro foundation here for the purpose of making college educations available for those in need.

Other awards went to:

Sidney Harris, University of Maryland Medical School; Henry Kaplan, second year in medicine, University of Alabama; Simon Siegel, second year, Anderson Medical School, Glasgow, Scotland, Ralph Peimer, second year pre-medicine, University of Alabama; Meyer Mackler, second year medicine, University of Louisville; Milton G. Hendlich, second year, Harvard Medical school.

Daniel Bergsma, second year, Yale Medical school; Eugene C. Auryonsen, third year, Montclair State Teacher’s college; Joseph A. La Cava, second year, Law School of the University of Michigan; Abe Jackson, third year, Indiana University School of Medicine; Norman Jacobs, fourth year, New York University, Jonas Zweig, fourth year, Columbia University; Emanuel Singer, fourth year, Upsala College.
