Stadium Season Concludes with Fokine Ballet

In response to the enormous interest in the dance performances at the Stadium Mrs. Charles S. Guggenheimer announces that the Fokine Russian Ballet will close the seventh season of the Stadium Concerts next Monday night. Alexander Smallens will conduct. In case of rain the season will be extended one night and the Fokine Ballet will dance on Tuesday.

Tonight and Saturday night at 8 o’clock sharp bring the last opera of the summer, Gounod’s “Faust” under the direction of Alexander Smallens with the following cast: Faust, Dimitri Onofrei; Mephistopheles, Leon Rothier; Valentin, Mostyn Thomas; Marguerite, Aida Doninelli; Siebel, Pearl Besuner; Marthe, Philine Falco, and Wagner, Louis D’Angelo. The ballet has been arranged by Rita de Leporte. In case of rain the opera will be postponed one night and an orchestral program will be substituted in the Great Hall by Mr. Smallens.

If weather permits Willem van Hoogstraten will conduct the last purely symphonic concert on Sunday night. He has scheduled a popular program as follows:

Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Brahms; “Ruslan and Ludmilla” Overture, Glinka; “Caucasian Sketches, Ippolitoff-Ivanoff; “Wienerblut” Waltz, Strauss, and “1812” Overture, Tchaikovsky.
