The Soviet government officially announced today that Michael Ostrowsky, Soviet Jewish diplomat, had been appointed the first Soviet Ambassador to Rumania.
There have been no official diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries since 1917. One of the chief points which kept the two countries apart was Rumanian seizure of the Besarabian provinces of Russia.
