SIGN UP FOR THE JTA DAILY BRIEFING

Neville Laski, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, stated at Warsaw that the Jews of Poland and Austria are suffering dire destitution, dispatches to the London press from that city reported today.

Laski is conducting investigations in both countries into the conditions of their Jewish inhabitants and is discussing their straits with the authorities and Jewish leaders with a view to achieving amelioration.

The American Joint Distribution Committee came in for praise from Laski, who said Jews of other countries might well follow the example it has set in helping the Jews of Poland who, he pointed out, comprise a large portion of the Jews in the world.
