Yiddish Schools Group Loses Warsaw Subsidy

Municipal authorities today cancelled the annual subsidy granted Yiddish schools here under direction of the Zisho, Central Organization of Yiddish schools. The action of the Warsaw authorities endangers existence of Yiddish schools with 2,000 pupils. The government subsidy for many years amounted to 60,000 zlotys annually (approximately $12,000). Last year the subsidy was reduced to 25,000 zlotys (approximately $5,000).
