The 1935 season and membership campaign of the Junior Federation of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities is on its way today, following a rally at the Brooklyn Jewish Center, 667 Eastern parkway, which more than 1,000 members of the junior group and their friends attended.

In addition to re-enrollment of its more than 1,000 members, the meeting resulted in the listing of 500 young men and women as volunteer workers. They will give their services through the Junior Federation to many of the twenty-five clinics, hospitals and other institutions affiliated with the Federation.

The meeting served also as an opportunity for the members to meet Miss Helen L. Strauss, newly appointed executive secretary, who was formerly executive secretary of the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods. In a brief address Miss Strauss declared there is “no better training school than Junior Federation to teach us to recognize our responsibilities to humanity and to aid us in building a better social order.”

Nathaniel E. Coen is chairman of the membership campaign. Assisting him are Werner Widmann, vice-chairman; Miss Grace Straim, secretary; and the following chairmen of sub-committees: Robert Kaplan, George Josephart, Julius Zizmar, Jacob Arber, Daniel Biegler, Ben Gise, William Springer and Dr. Benjamin Oremland.
