Investigation of charges that Mexica barred naturalized American citizens because they are Jews from entering proceeded today, following a request to the State Department at Washington by Senator Arthur H. Vandenberg on a complaint by the editor of the Detroit Jewish Chronicle.

George Galvani, director of the choir of Temple Beth El here, and his wife, both naturalized citizens, were stopped at Laredo last June, although they had secured visas as required, it is alleged, and told they could not enter because of their racial origin.
