On the heels of President James B. Conant’s stinging rebuke to Nazi Germany in announcing that Harvard University flatly rejected the $1,000 scholarship of Ernst F. Sedgwick Hanfstaengl, ’07, confidante of “Handsome” Adolf Hitler, and chief of the Nazi foreign press bureau, The Harvard Crimson, undergraduate daily newspaper, which on June 12 suggested that Hitler’s gentleman nurse be the recipient of an honorary doctorate of laws, again rallied to his cause today, on “liberal” grounds.
